Beach Sakarun, Dugi otok - Veli Rat

If you've ever seen the images of Sakarun beach you've certainly thought it is someplace in the Bahamas. This oasis of paradise is actually on Dugi island, one of the longest Croatian islands. The sea level is not so high on this beach. If you are 250m from the shore, the sea depth will be less than 3.5m which are the ideal conditions if you are on holiday with children. Around the beach, there is a pine forest and you can look for shade below one of the many straw yellow umbrellas.

You can reach Sakarun beach with a car (there is also a parking lot) but you will also have to walk for a couple of minutes to get there. If you don't have a personal car you can come to the beach with a tourist train or you can rent bikes.

If you are hungry or you need refreshing it is worth noting that there are two bars nearby.
