Guide - Coves

Croatia's indented coast is a real paradise for all lovers of peaceful vacation and secluded coves. These small, mostly umbrella shaped bays are usually not very populated. Here and there you’ll stumble upon a little stone house which locals used to keep as their summer place. Bigger coves encompass settlements which still provide more privacy and tranquility than bigger seaside towns. Moreover, they are also a safe haven for all the sailors cruising the immense labyrinth of islands and islets in the Adriatic.

Islands' Coves Feature the Clearest Sea

Every local will tell you that "islands boast the best sea waters". Their crystal clear sea will not only give you a chance to see the lush underwater life, but their coves will be your own secluded little piece of heaven on earth..

Hvar Island offers you numerous coves. Though being globally famous tourist destination, this indented Croatian pearl still keeps some of its coves hidden. All you have to do is choose your ''personal'' cove which will provide you not only with a beautiful beach, but a mooring place, seclusion and view of untouched nature abundant with aromatherapeutic scents of pine trees, lavender and oleander as well. Moreover, woody Vrboska Cove and little stone houses of Torac Cove will immerse you into a rare harmony of nature and rural architecture.

Božava Cove on Dugi otok Island features turquoise blue sea and Saharun beach with its white sand gives you a feeling of a tropical vacation. Equally beautiful is also Soline Cove, situated at the southwestern part of the island. It was first mentioned as early as the 12th century, and today it's considered to be a perfect mooring area for boats and yachts.
